Story

I feel so lucky and honored to be given the opportunity to fundraise and represent Marie Curie once again.

So London Marathon 2026 here we come!!!!

Some might say that I'm a glutton for punishment and to be fair you are probably right. The support that I have received from everyone has been absolutely outstanding so I am going to give it another go. ❤️

Intention :

Once again as a lot of you know I have organized a quiz and many raffles so far, My intention is to carry on doing exactly that. This was mainly due to it being so difficult asking the same people for donations all the time. Also this way you guys and girls have a chance to win a prize whilst hopefully also having some fun.

That being said if anyone would like to donate anything to raffle it would be massively appreciated - Please get in touch.🙌

Of course if you would like to sponsor me for the London Marathon then that option is available and that would be amazing ❤️

Every little helps as they say. XXX

How it started :

It's been a long time since we said goodbye to a very beautiful woman indeed. Natalie’s Mum, my mother-in-law Noreen was a beautiful lady and we miss her dearly everyday. She was cared for by all the staff at Holme Towers in Penarth and what they do to look after their patients and families on a day to day basis is outstanding.

We have both been unfortunate to have to say goodbye to family members and very, very good friends. On the flip side we have been very, very fortunate that we also have great friends that have been diagnosed, had treatments and operations and we are so thankful that they are still here with us. X

After saying goodbye to our mum, Natalie and I decided to join the Marie Curie clap stand and help support all the runners competing in the Cardiff Half marathon. I was absolutely blown away at the effort so many people were putting in to help their chosen charities.

Then in 2019 I took the plunge and went for it myself. I thought I would like to do something myself and put some extra effort in by trying to raise some extra money for such an amazing charity.

Not being a runner, I trained like I've never trained before by firstly completing the Barry Island 10k and then the Cardiff half a few months later. In 2022 I was fortunate to be selected to fundraise and run the London Marathon for Marie Curie.

You guys have been absolutely amazing and blown my fundraising targets out of the water.

We have now raised over £15,000.00 since this journey began and I am hoping to get this to over £18,500.00 if we can.🤞

Hopefully with more raffles etc we can reach the target 🤞❤️

Massive, Massive Thank You to all those that have supported us and Marie Curie over the last few years. Without you guys it all would not of been possible. ❤️

Stay safe

Love and Best wishes

Darran
