Story
As a father of three amazing children, I can only imagine how parents of terminally ill children find the strength and courage to make the best of those precious moments they have left together. Rays of Sunshine's story really touched me as the work they do is so important for these children and their families and so, I have decided to run the London Marathon in April 2026 to raise as much money as possible for them.
It would mean a huge amount to me personally if you could spare a donation, however big or small. I am starting this process early, as some of the children currently registered will tragically not be here in April next year, so my aim is to raise as much as possible as early as possible!
Please give generously and I will do my very best to not get injured during the training between now and April, and run that marathon that has always been on my bucket list!
Thank you so much!
A bit about the charity:
Rays of Sunshine Children's Charity exists to fulfil the wishes of children, between the ages of 3-18 in the UK, of any race or gender who are terminally or seriously ill. It also buys equipment for these children and supports the hospices, hospitals and specialist schools that care for them. The charity brightens the lives of these children and their families by granting wishes and providing ongoing support. Rays of Sunshine believes that every child deserves to experience happiness and put their illness on hold, even if it is just for one day. Their work provides a positive distraction, reduces isolation, improves self-esteem and creates precious memories and smiles.
