My Story.

My nephew Michael Carle lost his battle with his mental health on the 13th of February this year, he was 29 years old. I am walking this Kiltwalk in his memory and to raise funds and awareness for ANDYSMANCLUB.

I have suffered with depression most of my adult life and there have been times when I could only see one final way out. Luckily I survived those days. During a period of depression 6 years ago I discovered Andys Man Club.

Walking through the doors of the club was the hardest thing I had ever done, it took me two weeks to build up the courage to do it.

My first week I didn't say much but I went home afterwards and cried for hours. They were tears of relief. I was no longer alone.

I left that night with 7 new brothers, I now have nearly 7000 brothers all over the country who are in the same club as me.

The guys at Andys Man Club listened when I was able to tell my story. I wasn't judged when I voiced the suicidal feelings that were dominating my thoughts, because everyone there had weathered the same storm and had come through it.
