RNLI volunteer lifeboat crews provide a 24-hour search and rescue service all around the UK and Ireland, while lifeguards keep a careful watch on the UK’s busiest beaches. RNLI lifesaving and drowning prevention depend on supporter fundraising and the generous donations that you and others give.

Story

Many thanks for all of your support, I will post some photos here later when they are sent to me. To celebrate my retirement after thirty years of teaching, I will be swimming from Beaumaris Castle down the Menai Straits to Carnarvon Castle. A distance of approximately 20K in challenging waters. I do most of my sea swimming between Borth and Aberystwyth and have never had to call on the RNLI (yet!!), but it has always been very reassuring to know that they are close at hand. I am very grateful to Mike from WESWIMRUN for providing support for this event.

Thank you,

Darren
