Story
Thank you for visiting our team page. Following my injury at the 2025 London Marathon I feel I have unfinished business with the London Marathon and Sharon will no doubt be thinking I’m mad running for a second time!
This year, I am lucky to be running for Maggie’s Charities. A national charity that have centres across the country to support cancer patients and their families with the psychological impact of cancer. Maggie’s Oxford supported both Sharon and I during her cancer journey and I am forever grateful to the counsellors who dedicated their time in helping us through the challenges!
Sharon was diagnosed with stage 4 Endometrial Sarcoma in July 2023 and was receiving treatment at the Churchill Hospital in Oxford. Very sadly, Sharon passed away on 19th September 2023, after her condition took a turn for the worse. Sharon's story has made us passionate about raising money for Sarcoma UK and now Maggies to ensure no other family has to experience what we have.
Sharon was an amazing woman who was loved by so many. She was a devoted wife to me, and Mother to Chloe and Jacob. She would have made the most caring Nana in the world, and we were all so sad she never got the chance to meet and cuddle our first grandchild Hallie Sharon-Rose, who was born 11 days after she passed away. Sharon had so many wonderful friends and always had a smile on her face.
Sarcoma is a type of cancer that develops in the bone and soft tissue. It is difficult to diagnose and one of the hardest to treat. Supporting Maggie’s will enable centres to keep running and enable professionals to be employed to support cancer patients and families.
Thank you for your incredible support. 🙏❤️
