Darryl and Sarah's Strive for 35

Strive for 35 - Canine Partners
2025 marks a major milestone for Canine Partners, it's their 35th anniversary! To celebrate, we are joining their Strive for 35 challenge throughout March.
We've set ourselves a number of individual challenges as well as some joint ones to keep us focused on raising as much money and awareness as we possibly can for this amazing charity.
Throughout March Darryl will dog walk at least 35 miles, Sarah will run at least 35 miles, together we will complete at least 35 miles of the National Forest Way, we're going to bake 35 cup cakes to do a bake sale, cook at least 35 sausage rolls for a mid morning snack sale, get back to our old hobby and find 35 geocaches and, assuming I can talk my singing partner into it, sing 35 songs live over Facebook! It's going to be a very busy month!
It might not sound much but Darryl's knees are shot to bits so walking although a regular thing is not without challenge. I haven't run for a long time now so that will get me back up and about. Despite living on the National Forest Way (well, almost) we've never walked it so that will be an adventure too. Oh, and I can't bake!! lol ... but I know a friend who can teach me!!
Everything we do will be to support Canine Partners mission and raise vital funds to help them train more amazing assistance dogs!
We want to make their 35th year one to remember. Together, we’ll strive, thrive, and make an impact!
If you don't know too much about Canine Partners and their amazing dogs, well, they bring a greater independence and quality of life to their partners, offering security, companionship, and practical help with everyday household tasks. They are trained to help with everyday tasks such as opening and closing doors, unloading the washing machine, picking up dropped items, pressing buttons and switches and fetching help in an emergency. These life-transforming dogs also provide psychological and social benefits including increased independence, confidence, social interaction and self-esteem.
