Story

Many of you will know that last year, Vikki's brother David Strang—my brother-in-law—took his life in a shocking, unexpected, and deeply sad turn of events. The grief that followed has been traumatic, rippling out with a huge blast radius—multi-layered, deeply personal, and touching so many people in different ways at different times.
David lived life to the full—boldly and free—travelling the world, building his toy business Wicked Vision from the ground up, and filling his days with fun, excitement, and a huge smile. From gatecrashing the Oscars to thoughtful check-ins with family and friends, he was a bundle of positive energy, always at the centre of everything. But in late 2024, when his business collapsed, we lost the life-loving person we knew. His mental health declined, and tragically, he just couldn't see how to continue. On 21st April 2025, aged 52, he took his own life. He is profoundly missed by his close family — Mum and Dad, Vikki, me, our kids—extended family, and his huge network of friends and contacts.
In memory of David's fearless spirit and to make something positive from this awful situation, my son Daniel and I are climbing Mount Snowdon in Wales on 3rd May 2026—the one-year anniversary of his funeral. Some of David's close friends will join us. I think he would have loved that.
So many of us tried to help David, but in the end we couldn't get through. We can't change what happened, of course, but we can try to help others get the support he couldn't. Jami is a UK charity with expert suicide prevention programmes that break stigma, train communities in crisis support, and provide resources to everyone in distress. I've met them several times to learn about their work, and I just wish I'd known sooner. We're aiming to raise both their profile and funds to support what they do.
Every donation, big or small, helps them save lives. Thank you for your support in helping us honour David.
