8 years ago during the height of my gambling addiction suicidal ideation was a daily thought for me, I genuinely believed everyone would be better of without me due to the destruction my gambling addiction had caused.

I was fortunate to find a way out from my hell of gambling addiction and into recovery and remain gambling free today. But not everyone finds their way into recovery, every single day someone in the UK takes their own life because of gambling.

Founded in 2018 by bereaved families, the vision of Gambling with Lives is a world free from gambling-related suicide and I’m delighted to support them by taking on the 496 challenge throughout the month of July.

The challenge is simple, run the number in kilometers that matches the day of the month. This will total 496k over the 31 days in July.
