Action Medical Research is the leading UK-wide charity saving and changing children’s lives through medical research. For 65 years we’ve helped pioneer ways to prevent disease and develop treatments benefiting millions of people. Our research has helped to beat polio in the UK, develop ultrasound, fight meningitis and prevent stillbirths. But we urgently need to develop more new treatments and cures for sick babies and children and we can’t do it without you.

Geoff & I were inspired by the charity and event to do something physical and challenging to help babies and children have the best start in life.

The challenge of a hike, Cycle & Canoe was a different style of event and challenging enough to push us both.

Geoff trains with me and is constantly pushing the limits in gig rowing and trying to keep his place in the A team despite him gaining years (experience as he tells me) Im always challenging him to achieve his best and he set me a task of a physical challenge for us both and I came across 'Race The Sun' and when I discovered Action Medical Research and found out the great work they do it was a no brainer.

When I had my Daughter, Florence, 4 years ago, the first few weeks of her life were spent in hospital which was hard and scary. We were thankful she was able to be treated and made a full recovery. I would want other parents to get to the other side just like Hayley and I have and for all children and babies have the healthiest and best start to life. This is only possible with charities like Action Medical Research doing what they do and crazy people like myself and Geoff taking on adventurous challenges.

The question is, who will be carrying who on this one? The trainee or trainer?
