John Bunyan of The Pilgrim's Progress fame has been the inspiration behind my decision to attempt this challenge of 56 miles in May.

The journey of his creation Christian across the Slough of Despond is wonderfully illustrated in Bedford at the John Bunyan Museum and in The Pilgrim's Progress hostelry and elsewhere. Having completed The Harrold Pit Run in April I am looking to spread my wings and fly a little further.With my initial mileage target achieved and more of the month left it is time to raise the bar a little and set a new target.

The money is already in but the wider benefits are harder to measure but perhaps in this day and age of surveillance and fear George Orwells Room 101 comes to mind.
