Story
As part of the Scobie & Junor team, I am taking on this skydive challenge in memory of my father, Tim Oakes, who sadly passed away on September 18th 2025, after a courageous battle with mesothelioma.
The sky dive will take place on September 8th 2026, almost one year after his passing.
Mesothelioma is a devastating cancer caused by asbestos exposure, affecting not only those diagnosed but also everyone who loves them. Watching someone you care about face this disease is incredibly difficult, and we hope that by raising money we can help support vital research, improve care for patients and families, and raise awareness of this terrible illness.
Every donation, no matter the size, is greatly appreciated and will help make a difference. Thank you for your support and for helping us honour Tim's memory. He will always be loved, remembered, and deeply missed.
Our team of fundraisers:
We’re a team of colleagues from The Scobie & Junor Group, coming together to take on a Sky Diving challenge to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Many of the team have seen first-hand the incredible difference Macmillan makes to people facing cancer. From specialist nurses and emotional support to practical and financial advice, they were there to help and support our families through some of life’s toughest moments.
If you’re able to support our team with a donation, we’d be so grateful. Every contribution, no matter the size, helps Macmillan continue providing vital support to those who need it most.
