Story
This year, I’m taking on the London Landmarks Half Marathon in support of Ferring Country Centre, the incredible charity I’m proud to work for.
Our mission is simple but powerful:
“To support people with learning disabilities to grow their independence, connect with others and create a good life.”
I’ll be honest — I haven’t run in a long time, and getting back into training has been tough.
The early alarms, aching legs, and long miles have all been a real personal challenge.
But my challenge is nothing compared to the daily challenges faced by the adults we support.
Every day, they work hard to build confidence, develop new skills, and navigate situations that many people might take for granted. Their resilience, positivity, and determination inspire me immensely - and it’s their strength that will be pushing me on and motivating me to cross the finish line.
At Ferring Country Centre, none of this progress would be possible without our dedicated team of staff and volunteers working across the whole of our organisation.
Their passion, encouragement, and commitment create the supportive environment that allows people to thrive.
If you’re able to support me, your donation will help us continue providing life changing opportunities and meaningful support for adults with learning disabilities.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read my story — and for any support you can give. Every donation, big or small, truly makes a difference.
