Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
After an extensive injury last year I haven't been able to take part in any challenge walking events and I had the 25km London Summer Walk booked but didn't think I'd be able to take part. I've made the snap decision to take this challenge on this year as well as DementiaUK's walk a mile a day in September and try to raise a little funds for the charity if possible.
The main reason I've decided to fundraise for the DementiaUK charity at this late stage is because I lost two friends to dementia last year and have another who is slowly deteriorating in front of his families eyes. It doesn't feel right to just do the challenge without trying to help a charity raise some much needed funding.
Dementia doesn’t just affect the person with the diagnosis—it affects the whole family. By walking 30 miles this September, it will help fund specialist dementia nurses, who provide expert advice and compassionate support when families need it most. Together, we can make sure no one faces dementia alone.
Now I don't know if I'll be able to finish the 25km challenge but I'll be giving it a good go!
