Story

As most of you will be aware, my father passed away last September.

The care and support that the Critical Care Unit at Royal Preston Hospital provided my dad and our family in those heartbreaking few days he was taken in, it truly stunned me and my family.

It made those final moments with our Dad that little bit easier to take, just with care and compassion they provided to us all.

My dad was a man of few words, he spoke with action and acts of service.

I am taking a leaf out of his rule book, rather than speaking about change, I have decided that actions speak much louder than words.

Myself and 3 of my close friends (Sam, Joe & Jack) have chosen to do the coast to coast challenge over 3 gruelling days. This will be approximately 177 miles in 3 days.

So any donation would be greatly appreciated so that we can donate a sum of money to help other families who are going through the heartbreaking situation of seeing a loved one in Critical care.

Thank you for taking the time to read a little bit of the background as to why we are doing this event.

Our critical care unit at Royal Preston Hospital is one of the largest in the North West of England, looking after more than 1600 patients every year.

Our dedicated team provides intensive treatment and close monitoring of patients who are seriously ill, or who need intensive care following surgery.

As our Critical Care Unit continues to grow here will always be a need for those added extras which can make all the difference to our patients and their families, when they need it the most.

Your donations will enable us to provide a welcoming, calm and comfortable environment for families staying close to their loved ones. With your help we can also fund additional equipment and state-of-the-art simulation training, enabling our team to remain at the forefront of modern technology and exceptional care.

Thank you so much for your support!
