I've had 2 strokes and on each occasion the Stroke Association, my fantastic wife and the NHS have helped me recover when part of my brain shut down. It could have been so much more of a challenge to recover without their help. My life changed instantly and it has been a tough recovery. My brain has adapted but there are some very minor residual effects that do not affect my day to day living. I've been very fortunate and I want to support those others who have not managed to achieve my level of recovery. The Stoke Associatins specialist support, research and campaigning are only possible with the courage and determination of the stroke community that now includes me.
