White Lion Team fundraiser for Jon Shaw Foundation

Dave Yoxall is raising money for Jon Shaw Foundation

White Lion Team 70 Mile Charity Walk · 17 October 2025

We provide monitoring equipment and alarms to help keep young people living epilepsy safe and regain independence. We support and improve the mental health of bereaved siblings and close friends by funding counselling and other therapies. We work with organisations to promote awareness of SUDEP.

Story

A team of staff and customers from the White Lion, Warmingham Road, Crewe are undertaking a 70mile walk from Manchester, taking a diverted route across Runcorn, Frodsham, Chester then finishing back at the White Lion pub in Crewe over 2 days, with the hope of raising much needed funds for this amazing charity.

Jon Shaw Foundation was set up in memory of Jon, who died aged 19 from SUDEP (SUDDEN UNEXPECTED DEATH IN EPILEPSY) in June 2019. The charity aims to -

1. Support young people with epilepsy by providing grants for equipment such as alarms, monitors and other safety aids not normally available through NHS.

2. Provide services and activities to improve the mental health of bereaved siblings and close

friends including social events and face to face or group bereavement counselling.

3. Promote awareness of risks in epilepsy including SUDEP.
