After the Second World War, David's Grandad / Geoff's father came to England from Ukraine where he lived for the rest of his life.

The illegal war in Ukraine has affected our family deeply with one of our family members being forced from her home in Ukraine to live with Geoff and Trish in Bristol (though they’re not actually that bad!) and many of our distant relatives displaced or caught up in the needless war.

Since the war began two years ago 'From Bristol with Love' (https://www.frombristolwithlove.org) has been sending shipments to Ukraine on a monthly basis to provide much-needed humanitarian aid including generators, clothes, medicines, batteries and torches to name but a few.

Each month two 'Transporters' team together to fully fund the trip to Suceava in North East Romania (the closest they can get to Ukraine) travelling 1750 miles where they meet up with Ukrainian nationals who will then transport the contents back to Ukraine so that it can be used directly in the country and especially to the areas most affected by the war.

So in a nutshell, in February we (David and Geoff) will be those Transporters! We'll drive the 1750 miles (or 3500 miles in total) over 7 days, and this is where we need your help.

As we mentioned, the Transporters fully fund the trip for van hire, insurance, fuel, motorway tolls, hotels etc and we’ll be gone for 7 days. It costs around £1500 per person to go and we’d love to involve as many people as possible who may be up for sponsoring us and, if you’re keen, can keep you updated on the trip as we go.
