Three weeks ago, my brother Will, aged 28, was diagnosed with a brain tumor.

Faced with this reality, my wife and I have chosen to respond in the most British way possible: by taking a long walk and hoping it helps. Specifically, a 10km walk across London to raise money for The Brain Tumour Charity (www.thebraintumourcharity.org), a rather excellent organization that funds research and supports patients and families.

Our team, named 'Walking for Willis', is looking to raise money for The Brain Tumor Charity on behalf of the family.

Your donation — be it grand or the digital equivalent of finding loose change down the back of the sofa — will go directly toward research and support for people like Will. Importantly, it will also provide me with the moral justification to complain endlessly about my sore legs afterwards.
