Since retiring I have started volunteering with the Phoenix Trust, a registered charity based in Milton, Cambridge. Phoenix provides meaningful work opportunities for adults with learning disabilities and complex needs, giving them a potential route into employment as well as providing the development of social and life skills. It is a happy, welcoming and rewarding place to be, and is managed by my long-time Girton friend and neighbour Jude (Tustian).

A couple of years ago we lost one of our cycling group, Mark (Szymanski). Mark plotted the John O'Groats to Land's End route which we completed alongside Mark back in 2017. Another member of that group, Simon, and I want to re-ride the same route in memory of Mark. Other cycling buddies will be joining us for parts of the route.

The Phoenix Trust is in the process of raising £300,000 for a new main building on their Milton site, and all of your donations will go towards this project. Thanks for your support which will motivate me to keep my pedals turning!
