Four Brothers, One Finish Line, Fighting MS Together!

Hello, I’m David (DC), and on September 27th I’m running the Berlin Marathon to raise some much-needed money for the MS Society as part of our team, “Brothers In ArMS”.

I was recently diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) which, if I’m honest, was a kick in the nuts! There was so much uncertainty and fear around what the implications of it could mean for me and my future.

As a very active person, I was worried it would affect so many of the freedoms that I like many take for granted, but after taking a little time to get my head round it, I rallied and I’ve chosen to fight back in a way that comes naturally to me: by taking on one of the biggest physical challenges of my life, all whilst not letting MS define me, which is where the MS Society comes in.

The MS Society does truly incredible work—supporting people through the darkest and most uncertain times, funding vital research, and giving hope to so many living with MS. Running this marathon is my way of standing with that community and hopefully helping others who are facing the same uncertain reality.

What makes this even more meaningful is that I’m not facing it alone; 3 of my brothers (Nick, Jonny and Jordan) immediately volunteered and will be running every mile alongside me. My family and friends are with me every step of the way with love and support, their strength lifts me on the days I struggle and reminds me exactly why this matters.

This isn’t just a marathon.

It’s a statement.

It’s about resilience in the face of change, strength through family, and refusing to be defined by MS.
