Myself and my sons uncle Jon Sargent are taking on this mammoth challenge even after I swore I would never do it again to raise much needed funds to continue the amazing work this charity does to help local deaf children and their families.

I am the father of 2 amazing boys, one of which is deaf/non verbal (Roman), having a deaf child with no history of hearing loss in our family has been not only a tough journey but an enriching one that has seen us immerse ourselves in a world that is very different from the one I grew up in and has shown me that children and their families need support in navigating how to adapt to having a child with very specific hearing/learning and social needs while also parents needing support in how they and other families are experiencing and coping with this journey.

I am extremely privileged to work alongside some amazing volunteers that keep this charity helping support deaf children and their families through monthly hubs, family days out, grants and so much more, I have experienced first hand the benefits this charity has for these families and the importance of these children having a peer group as they grow so as not to feel isolated in a hearing world. Anyway back to the challenge, we are taking on a 100km walk in 24 hours from Eastbourne to Arundel, we will not be stopping to rest or to sleep, this will be a continuous hike from 9:00am in the morning straight through the night with no sleep until we have completed the distance.

We have self funded all the entry and travel costs ourselves so any donations raised will 100% go direct to the charity.
