Hello,

I'll be walking the West Highland Way in the first week of May 2024 - 154 km from Milngavie to Fort William in the Scottish Highlands.

I've decided to raise funds to support Maggie's Aberdeen Cancer Support Centre along the way.

Based in the grounds of Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, Maggie's Aberdeen provides free practical, emotional, and psychological support to people with cancer, and their family and friends.

For people who need support at a very difficult time, Maggie's really are a beacon of hope and all the support they offer is available free, with no waiting lists, no appointments, and no limits.

In order to continue providing and growing their services, Maggie's rely on the kindness and goodwill of supporters. Below are some examples of how the funds raised are used to make the biggest possible difference to people living with cancer and their family and friends at Maggie’s.

£3 pays for tea for a day, so people can sit together at our kitchen table and find strength in sharing their cancer experiences.

£40 means someone with cancer can spend an hour with a Benefits Advisor to help them access financial support they might be eligible for and offer help with the application process.

£80 means a family can receive 1.5 hours of support from a psychologist, helping them to find a new approach to living after losing someone with cancer.
