Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Dear all,
I'm heading down to Devon this week to take part in The Summer Long Dance (School of Movement Medicine). It’s an opportunity to actively remember that our own personal wellbeing is connected to the wellbeing of the biosphere and all of life, and to dedicate our dance to all our relations, past, present and future. The deeper we dance, the more we directly experience the reality of the interconnected nature of all life. This recognition is not just a blissful experience, it’s a remembering of our responsibility to honour and protect the sanctity of life, each in our own way
I will be dancing, and have decided to fast from Monday 22nd July lunchtime to Thursday 25th lunchtime, 3 days for 21 hours a day.....aaahhhhhh 🫨

I am raising money for VoicesInExile, a charity based in Brighton who supports refugees, asylum seekers, and those with no recourse to public funds.
What they do:
Voices in Exile works with refugees, asylum seekers and vulnerable migrants with no recourse to public funds in East and West Sussex and Surrey. We offer practical and legal support including generalist advice and specialist immigration casework (up to OISC Level 2) for those who would otherwise be unable to access justice. As part of our holistic approach we offer practical support including a weekly food and toiletries bank for those who are destitute; and also advocate for, accompany and enable people to access services, build community, and develop their own potential through a programme of learning and creative activities. We seek to encourage people to find positive ways to address their own needs, build skills and resilience, and work towards integration in the UK through an active programme of volunteering.
Advice & casework:
Immigration Advice & Casework:
We are accredited to provide specialist immigration advice up to OISC Level 2. We provide one-off advice via our advice line or email, as well as immigration casework provided by our qualified caseworker.
A POEM BY NIKITA GILL
HOME YOUR REFUGE
NOW THEY CALL YOU REFUGEE
Home is a language
you grew in your mouth
that now no longer exists anywhere
but inside your heart and head.
Home is where
you had to teach your children
how to run from men who are dressed
in war and blood.
Home is now a legend
a story where you grew up,
happy and safe before
they set your entire world aflame.
Home is where you ran to the sea
because the place you once belonged to,
now no longer remembers your name.
Home was your refuge.
Now, after cruelly
taking it from you,
they call you a refugee.
