Clipper 2025-26 Race · 11 May 2025 to 30 November 2026 · Start fundraising for this event
I am privileged to sail a leg of the Clipper Round The World race on the "UNICEF" boat to raise funds. Over the course of 6,500 km from the West Coast of Australia to the East Coast, via the Roaring Forties, I expect to be pushed to limits of physical and mental endurance that I have never before faced. I'll be with a team of novice sailors and two professional crew as we take on two of the world’s toughest oceans – the Southern Indian and the Pacific – and dip to the most southerly point of the entire circumnavigation. The training and race fees are self-funded and every pound raised will go to UNICEF to make a difference to every child, every day, everywhere.
UNICEF has 15,000 people working for children in more than 190 countries, responding to emergencies and building long-term resilience. They save children's lives with vaccines, clean water, and therapeutic food. They protect children from violence, exploitation, and abuse. UNICEF empowers children through quality education and seeks to create a safe and sustainable world where children can live, learn and grow.
- A donation of £165 could buy a wheelchair for a child with limited mobility
- A donation of £275 could buy a midwifery kit containing all of the medicines, medical supplies and sterilisation equipment for a maternity ward to support the delivery of 50 babies
My race will be in memory of my late Mum and Dad, who took their own "great adventure" across the ocean to Australia when I was too small to remember anything. I'm expecting this will be a challenge I won't forget!
UNICEF has been both a Charity and Team Partner for the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race since the 2015-16 edition and during this time has raised £1.6 million for children around the world.
