So, a few years on from an aborted attempt at this race (courtesy of non-compliant calf muscles), I'll try again and this year I will be supporting a Lloyd's chosen charity partner - The Passage.

"The Passage's vision is of a society where street homelessness no longer exists, and everyone has a place to call home. The Passage is based in the heart of Westminster, providing practical support and a wide range of services to help transform the lives of people who are, or are at risk of, street homelessness.

Every gift, no matter how big or small, enables us to help people who are experiencing homelessness to regain their confidence and hope for the future."

The Passage's impact between April 2024 - December 2024:

* Served 32,327 meals to people visiting its Resource Centre.

* Prevented 1080 people from experiencing homelessness.

* Helped 1240 people to find and keep a home.

* Supported 724 people to find financial independence and stability.

For every £1 donated, 91p goes directly to frontline services at the Passage, so every pound really does count!

The race is on 12 October so time for some last-minute training and with the weather turning, the importance of "a place to call home" becomes even more of no-brainer for me to appreciate.
