Story
I am hoping to raise both funds and awareness of The Sussex Cancer Fund.
I am doing this in memory of both my incredible mother Bernadette Fraser who died from cancer 6 years ago and my brother-in-law Nick Palmer who was taken from us 4 months ago at the age of 51.
I got to see first hand how the Sussex Cancer Fund helps cancer patients in various ways. There are things you can see like complementary therapies, free tea and coffee in hospital, comfy chairs for chemo patients and refurbished wards and there are the things you cannot see like the purchasing of new equipment and funding local research studies.
It is likely that every Cancer Patient in Sussex will have benefitted from something the Sussex Cancer Fund has provided. #RaisedInSussexStaysInSussex.
One in two people will get some form of cancer during their lives so this charity can be of benefit to anybody living in East and West Sussex. The research study results are shared globally and may one day help somebody tens of thousands of miles away.
I feel that a complete head and eyebrow shave is so visually arresting and so indicative of someone undergoing chemotherapy that hopefully it will raise both significant awareness and funds for this truly amazing charity.
I will not be allowing my hair to regrow until my ambitious £5000 target has been reached...... wish me luck 🙂
