Every day, seven young people aged 13-24 hear the words "you have cancer".

I recently had the opportunity to visit the team at my local Trust, and was truly inspired by the selfless work they do to improve the lives of young people affected by cancer.

So I’m going to run the Great North Run in Newcastle on 13th September 2026. But as it’s a half marathon, I’m upping the stakes, to get more of your hard earned cash.

So I’ll be leaving my home in Hampshire, and cycling approximately 360 miles over 4-5 days, to arrive in Newcastle on Saturday 12th, just in time to run the race on Sunday.

Teenage Cancer Trust is the only UK charity providing specialised nursing care and support for young people with cancer.

You only get one chance at being young, and those years shape the person you become.

Teenage Cancer Trust’s units don’t feel like hospital – they’re bright, contemporary spaces where young people can be treated alongside others their own age.

And their expert nurses and youth workers are specially trained to help young people navigate everything cancer throws at them, from diagnosis through treatment and beyond.
