Run The Blades 50km · 15 July 2023

The charity was founded in 2021 in memory of Daniel Caplan. Daniel died from an aggressive DMG brain tumour. There is currently no treatment for this type of tumour. The charity campaigns for greater awareness and funding. We also provide gifts and holidays for children with any cancer diagnosis.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I've decided to take part in a 50km ultramarathon at White Lee Wind Farm called Run the Blades. This will be my first (and maybe last?) ultramarathon, so I wanted to use this opportunity to raise money for a good cause.

The Doing it for Daniel Foundation provides financial assistance for children and young people with a cancer diagnosis at the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow and The Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre. They do amazing work, and it's a charity that is close to my heart. My best friend, Scott Lee Fox, was taken from us at just 8 years old after his battle with cancer. He's on the left in the photo, I'm on the right, and my sister is in the middle. I still think about him a lot, and raising money for Doing it for Daniel will give me a chance to do something special for other young people with cancer.

Thanks again for visiting my page!
