The Macbeth Run for Palestine

David Greig is raising money for Independent Arts Projects

Birnam Wood to Duninsane Hill for Palestine · 27 July 2025

We make arts projects for audiences and participants. We make spaces where people can see themselves and be themselves. We believe everyone has a right to creativity no matter your age, background, experience or identity.

Story

On Sunday 27th of July I'm going to walk 23 miles from Birnam Wood to Dunsinane to raise funds to bring sixteen Palestinian artists to the Edinburgh Fringe.

The project is called 'Welcome To The Fringe: Palestine.'

I'm determined to raise £3000 towards our remaining target of £13,000 by August 8th.

Please consider helping with a donation, however small, it all makes a difference.

The walk will follow a route of my own devising inspired by Macbeth. I will march it on the anniversary of the battle of Dunsinane, which saw the good and mighty King MacBeatha unjustly overthrown by the wicked Mael Colm and his English allies: depending on who you believe. ; - )

The route consists of approximately 23 miles on roads and hill tracks in rural Perthshire.
