David's fundraiser for Brain Research UK

Edinburgh Half Marathon · 28 May 2023 ·
Welcome to my JustGiving fundraising page! I'm running the 2023 Edinburgh Half Marathon this May, aiming to raise as much money as possible for Brain Research UK!
I've chosen to run for Brain Research UK as it is a charity that is close to my heart. My cousin Tom Haynes sadly passed away in October 2022 due to a bleed on the brain. Tom collapsed suddenly and despite the best efforts of everyone around him, he tragically passed away two days later, at just thirty years old.
Incredibly, Tom saved six lives when he passed away, who now get to go on to live lives of their own, as he was a registered organ donor.
I am also running for my uncle, Dave Giles, who suffered a heart attack aged 51 which resulted in a devastating and life-changing brain injury.
Brain Research UK are the UK's leading dedicated funder of neurological research. Put simply, they fund vital science in brain research to increase understanding, improve diagnosis and treatment, and work towards the prevention of neurological conditions, to help people who suffer with them live better, and longer.
Brain injuries are intensely complex. The research and expert treatment they require costs money. I hope to be able to contribute just a small amount to help people affected and to help Brain Research UK going forward.
I would be really grateful for any donations, thank you in advance for supporting me and the amazing work Brain Research UK do, thank you!
