Story
I am taking part in the C2C2C to support St Barnabas Hospice (Lincolnshire) and cycling 100 miles through the picturesque Lincolnshire countryside to help raise vital funds for local hospice care!
Ali, my partner of 44 years, and Mum to our three children Matt, George and Emily, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on her birthday, New Years Day 2025, and coming to terms with our loss has been an ongoing struggle. St Barnabas Hospice Bereavement Counselling Service though have been a fantastic help to me and my family over the last year; listening, advising, explaining and helping us through this sad time, hence sponsoring me on this cycle ride is a great way to enabling the Hospice to carry on this service for others into the future.
Furthermore, Ali was a keen cyclist and the C2C2C route covers many of the cycle rides Ali and I did over the years from the city to the coast, so it is also a bit of a pilgrimage and trip down memory lane for me.
Hence, any money you can donate to support me with this challenge would be greatly appreciated. You will be making a real difference to patients and families across Lincolnshire living with life limiting or terminal illness, ensuring St Barnabas can be there for them every day of the year. I completed the 100 mile C2C2C cycle ride in Ali's memory for the first time in 2025 (in 7 hours and 15 minutes) and raised £1,810 for St Barnabas Hospice Trust (Lincolnshire)… so let’s together, in 2026, see if we can both beat the funds raised and the time this year.

St Barnabas Hospice is a local independent charity who supports more than 12,000 people across Lincolnshire affected by a life-limiting or terminal illness each year. They deliver free, high-quality, compassionate end-of-life care and support to patients, their families and carers. They aim to enable them to live as fully as they are able for however many days, weeks or months they have left.
They are reliant on the financial support the community provides, to be there for more patients, their families and carers, every day of the year.
