Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am excited to share with you that I, along with a group of close friends, will be participating in the Mourne Seven Sevens Challenge on April 27th, 2024.
This trek will involve climbing to the summit of the seven highest peaks in the Mourne Mountains, Co.Down. By the end of the day, we will have covered a total of 18 miles and over 2500 metres of vertical ascent.
The reason for taking on this challenge is very personal to me. My father is currently in advanced stages of kidney disease and requires a new kidney. After going through all necessary testing, I am grateful to say that I will be donating one of my kidneys to him (just awaiting some final details being confirmed 🤞). The surgery should take place sometime this year.
It is also my plan to complete a 24-hour walking challenge post-surgery (date dependent on surgery) in the hope that it can raise further awareness on the importance of live organ donation.
I am proud to be fundraising for Northern Ireland Kidney Patients Association (NIPKA), an organization founded by kidney patients for kidney patients. NIPKA provides emotional and practical support, helpful information, and signposting to relevant resources. As someone who has been personally impacted by kidney disease, I know firsthand the importance of having a strong support system. That's why I'm asking for your help in reaching our target amount of £1,000 (GBP) so that NIPKA can continue providing vital services to renal patients at every stage of their journey and treatment.
Join us in making a positive impact on our community by donating today! Your contribution will go directly towards supporting NIPKA's mission and helping those affected by kidney disease.
