Story
The stats are clear: 1 in 8 men will get prostate cancer, and one man dies from it every 45 minutes, yet prostate cancer is curable if caught early. Several of my friends have had prostate cancer, with a range of outcomes. On Sunday 13 September in Petersfield, I'll be walking 10K with the March for Men for my good friend Alfonso Bucero in Madrid, currently fighting the disease heroically, alongside other significant health challenges.
I'll be raising money for prostate cancer charities and the Rosemary Foundation. Please give generously - every penny helps. Thank you.
Also, if you're a man over 50, get tested! The test is quick, simple and painless. Here in Petersfield you can get it done free through PCaSO (next event is Sat 12 Sept 2026 at the Festival Hall, book at https://pcaso.mypsatests.org.uk/Events/?fed6a4bc-e670-460b-845b-0bda6ce1d156) I'll be there (again) - come and join me.
March for Men with Kev (https://marchformenwithkev.co.uk/) raises awareness of prostate cancer through annual walks in memory of Kev Birkett, who died from advanced prostate cancer in May 2023 after a brave fight. This is the fourth annual walk, and previously they've raised over £30,000.
