Story
My friends and family will know that since it started in 2008, I have been part of the organising team for the Queen Eleanor Cycle Ride. If you don't know about the history of Eleanor of Castile and the Queen Eleanor Crosses, look it up as it is a brilliant chapter of English history.
I grew up living right next to Charing Cross when my dad was vicar at St Martin-in-the-Fields. There were always lots of homeless people living nearby, who all had their own stories. Since I was very young, I have been able to see the amazing work that is done by the Connection at St Martin's in supporting people who find themselves homeless in central London.
The Friends of The Connection organises the QECR, to support the work of the Connection at St Martin in the Fields in helping people move from a life on the streets into secure and supported accommodation and a better future.
This year I am getting back on the bike (partly) and sharing Event Coordinator responsibilities with my good friend Charles Woodd (https://www.justgiving.com/page/qecr2023-charleswoodd)
If you are able to spare a little for this excellent cause, I would be very grateful for your sponsorship.
Many thanks!
