Story
On October 5th, we're embarking on the biggest cycling challenge of our lives: A journey of over 1400 kilometres from Bristol to Barcelona. We're doing this not just for the personal challenge, but to raise vital funds for St. Peter's Hospice, a charity close to our hearts.
St. Peter's Hospice provides compassionate care and support to local people with life-limiting illnesses and their families. Their work is a true beacon of hope and kindness, and we've seen the incredible difference they make first-hand.
In 2022, Jim's stepfather, Paul, was diagnosed with oesophageal cancer. After bravely battling it and even receiving the all-clear in 2023, they received the heart-breaking news in June 2024 that his cancer had returned. Paul passed away less than a month later, on July 4th, 2024. They were incredibly fortunate to spend Paul's last few days at St. Peter's Hospice, and eternally grateful for the exceptional care he received and the unwavering support the family received.
Paul was an avid cyclist and a member of Thornbury Cycling Club. He even introduced Jim to road cycling during the first Covid lockdown who in turn passed the bug onto me! This challenge is a great way to honour his memory and give back to this vital charity.
Every pedal stroke, every mile we cover, will be in support of St. Peter's Hospice. Your generosity would mean the world to us, and to the families who rely on their incredible work.
Thank you!
