Bring on the Wall

David Kyffin is raising money for The Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust

Hadrians Wall Run

For many young people simply picking up where they left off before their diagnosis isn’t possible. The Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust is a national charity that supports young people aged 8-24 to rebuild their confidence after cancer through sailing and outdoor adventure trips.

Story

Five years ago our family’s world changed when my son Max was diagnosed with cancer. The good news is he’s now 18, fully recovered and doing really well.

During and after his treatment, the support and opportunities he had through the Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust meant a huge amount. It gave him the chance to meet other young people who had been through similar experiences and build friendships at a time when many teenagers miss out.

As a family we will always be grateful for that support, so I wanted to give something back to a brilliant charity.

So, in what may turn out to be questionable judgement and to tick off a long-standing bucket list item, I am planning to run the length of Hadrian’s Wall over 4 days this July. Looking forward to it might be overstating things slightly.

If you are able to donate anything to support the charity that would be hugely appreciated. Even £1 makes a difference, it all adds up. If donating isn’t your thing, sharing the post would really help spread the word.

I will share more details once I finalise the plan. If you would like to support the charity, the link is below. And if anyone fancies joining me for a few miles along the way, you’d be very welcome.

😀
