David's fundraiser for MPN Voice (Guy's and St Thomas' Charity)

Kentish Killer · 3 March 2024
Anyone who knows me, will know that I love cycling (more for the Strava Kudos than the personal health benefits).
In the spring after feeling unwell, I had some blood tests which revealed an abnormality with my platelets. After an extended period of illness and further testing I have recently been diagnosed with an Myeloproliferative Neoplasms Disorder or MPN for short.
MPNs are types of blood cancer that begin with an abnormal mutation in a stem cell in the bone marrow.
In the spirit of motivating myself to get back on the bike, and to raise awareness, I have signed up to do the aptly named ‘Kentish Killer’ bike ride on the 3rd March 2024. A 100km+ bike ride around the Kent Alps.
I will be fund raising for MPN Voice who are a patient led support group who support those directly or indirectly affected by myelproliferative neoplasms.
