UPDATE: we did it!
38 miles, 20 stops, 82,000+ steps, and a lot of money raised for Tommy’s.
Thank you so much for the support - it means the world.
See you next year,
D and D

You would think that, having ‘completed’ the tube network last year by walking all eleven of the iconic lines, we’d be able to put our weary feet up and never have to travel around London in anything other than a stretch limo.
Unfortunately, TFL decided that London and the surrounding areas isn’t well-connected enough and have re-branded six Overground lines, as well as the behemoth that is our target this year: The Elizabeth Line.
Bestriding London in all of its purple glory, what was originally called Crossrail is quite the beast – 73 miles long from the further west to east points. We aren’t going to scale that much in a single day, but are attempting walking the ‘inner’ section of 19 stations, or 34 miles, from Heathrow in the west, to Abbey Wood in the east. On Saturday 2nd August, to be precise.
And if that wasn’t enough, there is even talk of one of our gang of ramblers walking the Reading to Hayes and Harlington section the day beforehand…another 27 miles!
The main reason for this, other than the challenge this presents, is to raise much needed funds for a variety of baby charities. Having raised over £18,000 for various charities in previous years, this year we are hoping to raise a further £1000 for Tommy’s, a charity whose ground-breaking research has saved countless babies over the years. At least three children we know arrived safely in the world thanks to their care and research.
Please feel free to join us, and spread the word. Each click makes a huge difference, and your support helps on the day more than you will ever know.
With love and blisters,
D and D xxxxx
