Story

Approximately 3 years ago I took up running to become healthier and improve my fitness. After completing a few half marathons my goal since the start of 2025 has been to attempt a marathon for the first time.

The training has been tough and has involved dedicating a lot of time to running 5 times a week and building up to weekly mileage of 40 miles.

In respect of the challenge of completing a marathon I would love to raise some money for an amazing local charity. Consett Cat Rescue is a family run home based rescue that helps as many cats as possible.

They help abandoned cats and kittens find permanent loving homes. Including helping to catch my 2nd cat Arla when she was a feral kitten living on the streets. (Cute picture included)

They trap, neuter, microchip and release feral cats to keep the population from continuing to grow.

They rely solely on public donations and people giving up their time to volunteer.

They are a volunteer led organisation with no paid members of staff and keep admin costs to the bare minimum.
