Story
So here we go again!
Back in 2017 I ran my first London Marathon and now I'm preparing to do it again this year having secured a place through Cllr Michael Situ, the Mayor of Southwark. I will be running for one of the Mayor's chosen charities, the St Giles Trust.
The St Giles Trust is a charity that works with people facing disadvantages such as homelessness, long-term unemployment, an offending background, addiction, severe poverty and involvement in gangs and is based in Camberwell.
I am of course one of ten of thousands of runners in this year's 2024 London Marathon but here are five reasons to donate to my fundraising
1) Because it's me asking and I'm worth it!
2) St Giles is a charity helping those in our society who are down on their luck, facing addiction issues, homelessness or who are seeking to overcome poverty and disadvantage. Everyone deserves a helping hand in life.
3) Because 26.2 miles (42km) is a very long way and I'm not a natural marathon runner so have had to commit to 16 weeks of training in all weathers since the 1st January and to date have clocked up 168.8 miles (271.8km) in my first 8 weeks.
4) That this is my second and "last" marathon so this is your final chance to support my Herculean efforts.
5) I will post updates and photos including hot shots of my legs and trainers over the next eight weeks until the big day.
Any donation, however, big or small is appreciated and thank you so much for your support in anticipation. Please be aware that when donating you need to be careful to check whether you wish to make a voluntary donation to JustGiving
If you want to follow me on the day I will share my marathon number and you will be able to track my progress from the comfort of your home or alternatively you can come out on the streets and cheer me on my way with all the other fabulous runners.
