Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am the founder of Therapeutic Activities Group who facilitate The Baxter Project, a wellbeing provision supporting challenging and vulnerable children in schools across South Wales with the use of wellbeing dogs. I have decided to temporarily join a new pack, signing up for a gruelling 180km Dog Sledding Challenge in Sweden in January 2024. As a man who isn't a huge fan of the cold and loves his creature comforts, the -40 degrees celsius temperatures predicted and the wilderness sleeping are particularly daunting, but the challenge is for a good cause, and the cause I have chosen is Home Start Cymru. We support children, but parents need support too.

Home Start Cymru is a national charity with local roots.  Their vision is that every parent in Wales has the support they need to give their children the best start in life.  They believe, as i do, that children need a happy, secure childhood and that parents play the key role in helping them achieve their full potential.

I aim paying for the challenge outright, so every penny raised goes directly to them :) I know it is a challenging time financially with the cost of living crisis, but if you can afford a small donation it will be supporting families who really need it. Every little helps.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
