David's 780km Pilgrimage walk on the Camino Frances to Santiago de Compostela on behalf of Long Covid Support

David Pett is raising money for Long Covid Support

Walking the Camino Frances to Santiago de Compostela. · 23 May 2026

Our mission is to improve the futures of people with Long Covid by ensuring equitable access to high quality healthcare, employment rights and welfare services through peer support, health and work advocacy and research engagement.

Story

In April and May 2026, I will embark on a deeply personal and long-held ambition: to walk the 778 km Camino Frances pilgrimage from St Jean Pied de Port to Santiago de Compostela in Spain. This incredible journey will see me walking between 20 to 30 km each day, pushing my limits physically and mentally. But this pilgrimage trek is about more than just personal achievement; it is a mission to raise vital funds for Long Covid Support. Several friends have been profoundly affected by Long Covid as well as other viral conditions facing ongoing challenges that impact their daily lives. Their stories inspire me to advocate for greater awareness and support for those living with these conditions.

The need for support and research into Long Covid has never been greater. Many suffer in silence, struggling with symptoms that disrupt their ability to work, care for loved ones, and enjoy life fully. By contributing to this cause, you help provide essential resources and hope to those battling the long-term effects of Covid-19.

I am aiming to raise £1 for each kilometre, so £780 through this challenge. Your generous donation will make a real difference in supporting Long Covid patients on their road to recovery. Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast, and completely secure—your details are safe and your contribution goes directly to the charity without delay or extra cost.

Thank you sincerely for visiting my fundraising page and considering a gift towards this important cause. Together, we can walk alongside those affected by Long Covid and help light the way toward healing.
