Story
As most of my friends will know, every year since 2016, I have been dedicated to raising funds for the incredible charity, O2e. Founded by passionate individuals connected to Beckenham Rugby Club, O2e stands out in the charity world for its unique structure - no paid employees, only dedicated volunteers. This means that every penny raised goes directly to the various charities they support.
This year marks O2e’s 16th annual 250-mile cycling challenge, the 'Big Kev Bike Ride Tour du Nord' from 11th to 15th September 2024. The ride spans from Dunkirk to the beautiful seaside resort of Le Touquet Paris-Plage in Northern France. I am committed to taking on the challenging 100+ mile options on days 2 & 3, with day 1 covering a shorter trip to Lille before heading to Amiens and finally Le Touquet Paris-Plage.
All riders and support are self-funded, ensuring that every penny raised through sponsorship goes directly to this year's nominated children's charities: CASPA (the charity I ran the Brighton Marathon for back in March), Taylor Made Dreams, Freddie Farmer Foundation, PACE, Marjorie McClure, ELHAP, SPARKLE and St Elizabeth's.
These charities provide vital support for children with life-limiting illnesses and disabilities. I would be immensely grateful if you could help me reach my fundraising target of £500.
