The Lord Mayor's Appeal Abseil Challenge 2024 · 7 June 2024 ·

The Lord Mayor’s Appeal aims to support our two charity partners, MQ Mental Health Research and Homewards - A Royal Foundation, who will be delivering ground breaking programmes that can help change people's lives and help create A Better City for All.

Story

The day is here!

No Feet Wet Friday today because I am dropping 47 floors of the Cheese Grater instead.

Why?

To raise money for three great charities that I hope our fundraising today will help support.

Our Charities

MQ has a vision which resonates with me. They are the only charity exclusively investing in scientific research into the causes, treatment and prevention of mental illness. We hope their work will create a world where mental illness is understood, effectively treated and eventually prevented.

Homewards is a transformative five-year programme to end homelessness across the country. We want to show that it’s not inevitable. We can make a change. We can end homelessness for good.

The final charity is close to my heart as I struggled with basic arithmetic at school and when I started work. National Numeracy is helping people across London to boost their confidence with numbers using volunteer champions. 200 have been trained to date and 1,200 Londoners now feel more able to take their next steps at work or with managing their money.

Thanks for your support! See you at the bottom (hopefully).
