David Pyle - Making a Difference for The Royal Marsden

David Pyle is raising money for The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity

Team: David Pyle - Making a Difference in the Long Run

Long Run

We raise money to improve the lives of people affected by cancer. From funding state-of-the-art equipment and groundbreaking research, to creating the very best patient environments, we will never stop looking for ways to improve the lives of people affected by cancer.

Story

If you wish to keep updated on my run, please follow my journey here! - https://makingadifferenceinthelongrun.blogspot.com/

After 41 years in teaching, culminating in 15 years as Headteacher at Weald Community Primary School in Kent, I am now launching myself into retirement.

To mark this transition, I am embarking on a series of long-distance runs along the National Trails. The first of these, starting on 21st September and finishing on 26th September will be from Hunstanton to Caister, 78 miles along the Norfolk Coast Path- three marathons in six days!

My primary goal is to raise funds and awareness for two highly worthy causes with which I have had personal connections.

Restart Lives is a London based homelessness charity where my daughter Olivia is Head of Programmes and I act as a trustee. This organisation offers services, advice and life-changing support to help individuals to break the cycle of homelessness.

The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity develops life-saving treatments and invaluable care and support, including that given to very close friends and a pupil at my last school whose parents say: "the Royal Marsden staff have been amazing, going above and beyond to look after us during this difficult time".

Thank you so much in anticipation of your support and donations plus Gift Aid where possible.
