Story
We lost an amazingly funny, charming, warm and full of love and laughter woman last year, at the same time we welcomed her granddaughter and my niece into the world.
Adele would have been an incredible grandmother, the same as she was a top notch mother to Jake, so to have her taken from us too young and so suddenly was a massive shock to everyone around her. She was a massive beacon of light in everyone's lives, radiating love and happiness until the very end. Selfless, caring, bold and never afraid to speak her mind or share her abundance of love - she was one of a kind and loved by everyone who met her.
We miss her every day and try to focus on the joy she brought and the way she would have loved her granddaughter Isla, who is brimming with her smiles, love and joy for life.
The Christie gave Adele, Jake, Alex and Alex (my sister) so much support and the best possible options/temporary relief/hope to make the most of the time we had left - the Christie was a shinning light in a very dark time and it meant so much to them all.
Jake has done an incredible job raising vital funds to help the Christie keep doing the vital work it does and allow other families to share in the support they gave our family. We're all so proud of what he's done and I want to support too.
Me and Jake were going to run this together this year but unfortunately due to a hamstring injury Jake can't make it. So I will be running this for him, Adele, my family and the Christie.
The longest I'd ran was a 10k prior to this time 6months ago and the training has been tough and time consuming while trying to balance everything... 42k is madness.
To be honest, I'm pretty nervous as my knees feel like broken glass after some of the long ones I've done in my training for this but the idea of doing it in memory of Adele and to support the Christie so that more time can be given to people and families going through the same, is keeping me going and has given me a positive personal focus too.
I'm hoping to raise as much as possible to help the Christie and would be thankful for any donation or support you are able to.
Thank you
