Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My Dad, Mick, passed away after a short battle with Cancer on 30th January 2025. In his final few days he was transferred to the Weldmar Inpatient Unit in Dorchester.
At such a difficult time it was so heartwarming to see how the staff cared for Dad as well as looking after my Mum, Sister and Myself. The services they provided were so impressive from the pain relief management to the caring and compassion of the staff and volunteers the care was first rate.
Without these hospices patients would remain in hospitals where they would not be able to receive the right care and support, nor would families be able to spend all of their time with their relatives in a calm and well suited environment. The charity needs to raise £27,500 a day to keep the services going, which includes the Inpatient Unit in Dorchester where my Dad passed away. Hospices receive a small amount of their funding from the NHS however this only just scratches the surface.
If you can support please consider donating a small amount in memory of my Dad. My dad was always a supporter of my work within non-league football and working within the charity sector so this is a tiny way I can help return that support in his memory.
Thank you!
Alison, Samantha and Dave xx
