Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page, please also look at the Value Match team page.
Teenage Cancer Trust is Lindsay's nominated charitable cause which Value Match will be supporting moving forward.
In late August / September, I will be riding in the Pyrenees, with the aim of climbing 15 Cols (mountains) and over 50,000ft of climbing over 8 days. It feels like a bit of challenge right now, but we will see how the training goes.
The bike was commissioned when Lindsay first had the terminal cancer diagnosis. I don't know how you react to that news so I just wanted to do something that would say you will be remembered. It was great to collaborate with Lindsay around the concepts and ideas as the whole project developed.
Lindsay and I wanted the colours and images to represent something that meant something to us. The colours reflect the Angel of the North in a certain light and then to black (Lindsay likes a primary colour). The sculpture has a deep meaning to everyone who experiences it and of course to the local community, including Lindsay. It is made of weathered steel, the bike is made of titanium. They are built to last!
Teenage Cancer Trust is such an important charity and reflects everything that Lindsay and Value Match care about. How can we support children and young adults in maximising life's opportunities and for those children who receive such terrible news ensure they do not lose those opportunities.
