Hester and I are going to the pain cave to raise money for the wonderful North Devon and Cornwall branch of the Samaritans.

Volunteering for the Samaritans for the last few years has been an incredibly rewarding experience. I never knew quite how vital a service it is, and how much of a lifeline it offers to people all across the UK. There is never a time when the phones are not inundated with calls - people in need of a friendly voice. The continuing cost of living crisis, and the subsequent cuts to mental health support mean that organisations like the Samaritans are even more important than ever. Branches all over the UK are facing tough times so I'm looking to do my bit to help - and Hester, being the legend she is, will join me in the suffering.

This is to be Hester's first ever marathon, so please help out if you can.
