Hello, my name is David “Snippy” Stones. I have had a life long love of cycling of all types, taking myself on some great adventures, not always sensible ones!

For a few years I have had a desire to cycle The Great Divide Mountain Bike Route with my great friend Steve Tobin. I booked the trip late 2024. Unfortunately since then I have happened upon some health issues, which with a very heavy heart and soul searching, I have cancelled the trip that I was due to undertake with Steve on 1st July. I am currently in the midst of tests, scans etc to obtain a diagnosis.

I have, possibly/probably unwisely, agreed to try to ride Lands End to John O’Groats, bikepacking and largely unsupported with Steve via the GB Divide Route starting 1st July 2025. This is about 1200 miles and roughly 55% off road. There is no guarantee that I’ll complete it, but I’m determined to try.
